In an interview with Japanese gaming magazine Famitsu, the lead developer discussed how Crypton Future Media came to him about designing his own version of Miku, a virtual idol that is popular in Japan. While surprised at the offer, he agreed, and his rendition of the iconic blue-haired character was put on display at an art exhibit in New York. Nomuras take on Miku has Final Fantasy written all over it, bearing similarity to the characters that the director has designed for Square Enixs famous RPG franchise. He also recently worked on his own version of the D.C. Comics heroes Batman and Catwoman for Play Arts Kai, a popular Japanese maker of collectible figures.
