Kyubo begins with our eponymous protagonist chained to a dungeon wall, unsure of how or why he's there. Despite an appearance that should indicate an affinity for dungeons--Kyubo is either a reverse skeleton or a man in a bondage suit--our confused hero quickly frees himself with a nearby key and begins searching for a way out. His journey outside will require platforming, puzzle-solving, and patience, but it's an escape well worth making.

Last year's put an intriguing spin on the tower defense genre, by allowing players to essentially position units around a blocky map and wait for the enemy to come knocking. With Cubemen 2, developer Three Sprockets hasn't exactly shaken up the original release, nor has it hindered the tried and tested formula.

"If the gameplay resonates with you" is one of the more maligned phrases in game reviewing. It's a cop out, like defining a word using the same word; but in some cases, like this one, it's just unavoidable. So, if touch-based bridge building resonates with you, then you might like Bridgy Jones.

ScribbleMix Review (iPad)

When was released last year, its impact was unlike any mobile or social game before it. The game featured no competition, no scoreboard, and no achievements. Two players drawing pictures for one another was enough to make the game feel more social than most social games before it. Now, Disney has entered the drawing game space with ScribbleMix, which takes that simplicity of Draw Something and adds its own style. It lacks some originality, but it still manages to feel fresh and fun.

After Earth Review (iPad)

Did you know that Will Smith summertime blockbusters have opened number 1 at the box office for something like, 75 years in a row? Yup, it's true. Even the dreadful Wild Wild West did well with moviegoers, but sadly, that streak has ended with the recent After Earth: an original story by Smith starring the man himself and his son, Jaden. The M. Night Shyamalan-directed vehicle--which has faced allegations of subtle Scientology propaganda-- opened to low numbers recently, so is it really a surprise that the licensed iOS game would be similarly disappointing? Nope.

Scurvy Scallywags Review (iPad)

Veteran swashbuckler Ron Gilbert knows a thing or two about pirates. He created the classic PC game . Sometimes, though, a sea-dog needs to dock in a different harbor. Aside from its pirate theme, Scurvy Scallywags, a match-3/combat game for iOS, is a bit of a departure for Gilbert and his partner in crime, Clayton Kauzlaric. Happily, it's a fun game that boasts the charm of a siren chorus.

Total Domination: Reborn Review (iPad)

Maybe I'm missing something. When I picked up Total Domination: Reborn, I suppose I was expecting features that warranted such a lofty subhead; features like a host of new units, real-time battles, and other assorted goodies that would distinguish it from its . No such luck. Instead, what we have here is much the same juggle of city building and battle strategy that's already attracted thousands of satisfied players, all handsomely repackaged and redesigned for release on mobile devices. All in all, if you're into social strategy, that's not necessarily a bad thing.

Color Zen Review (iPad)

Added: 06.06.2013 16:00 | 4 views | 0 comments

Gamezebo Rating: 80

There's a growing tendency towards abstract, single-serving gameplay that is beginning to define the casual gaming space. As the ultimate renditions of pick-up-and-play, entries like have dropped shiny gems and cutesy creatures for the sake of simplified, streamlined, and perfected puzzle mechanics. Although not a genre definer alone, Color Zen is a worthy addition to their shapely ranks.
