I'll be honest, before I started playing Expedition Mars, I didn't know anything about the game other than its title, and the fact that it was coming from the same people behind the intriguing point-and-click adventure . But in a way, I feel like this lack of information actually allowed me to enjoy this engrossing point-and-click adventure all the more, as Expedition Mars turns out to be a game that's all about discovery, and making those discoveries completely on your own.

Combo Crew is something of a love letter to the beat 'em ups and brawlers of the late 80's and early 90's, as the influence of games such as , and Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles is clearly apparent. That said, Combo Crew doesn't simply copy the formula, but rather uses it as a starting point to make something unique and arguably better suited for the iPhone.

Throughout the history of kids' cinema, there's always been some grungy bad guy who's constantly harshin' on Mother Nature. The forces of pollution are at it again in Epic, an iOS game based on the recent animated movie by Blue Sky Studios. Like the film it's based on, Epic is pretty to look at, and its world is fun to visit for a time, but you've been down this particular stretch of forest over, and over, and over again.

Beautiful, surprising, challenging, and subtle, Quell Memento runs the player through a gauntlet of puzzles that range from elementary to devilish, but it's the game's emotional undercurrent that you'll ultimately remember. Snippets of exposition trickle out as you guide your rain drops through stages and memories. This is as a marble maze.

We reviewers love our labels, but some games just won't cooperate and wear them. Solara is one of those non-conformists, since it has sim, strategy and fantasy RPG traits, but not enough of any of them to neatly classify. It's also free and fun, though in a way that creeps up on you gradually more than it smacks you in the face - which is good, since that would probably cancel out the fun.

A Tetris reboot on touchscreen devices from Electronic Arts should by all accounts be a mess of awkward controls and microtransactions. Tetris Blitz retains little of the sentiment from the 1984 original, but inventive and frantic gameplay, mobile sensibilities, and cues from Pac-Man Championship Edition DX combine to make this the Tetris you want for the device you have. It also uses the word Tetriminos without irony.

Every so often, an intriguing little indie game comes along to remind us why we ever fell in love with video games in the first place. Whether it's because of a unique and different presentation, or simply just the way it invites you to play, games like these are what make it so much fun to work at Gamezebo every morning. Well it looks like Mushroom 11 might just be one of those games. And it's not just me saying this either: the mesmerizing new game was even awarded "The Best of Indie Press Day" for 2013.

Hyper Breaker Turbo is one of the most exciting brick-breaking arcade games out there. Actually, that sentence sounds a bit bland. This game deserves better. Hyper Breaker Turbo is Breakout injected with a proprietary blend of nitrous and the blood of a rampaging bull. It's fast, it's challenging, it's filled with awesome power-ups, and even though it's filled with failures and successes, it never gets frustrating.

It often seems like Cartoon Network's Regular Show can do no wrong. Whether it's in the episodes themselves, the spin-off mobile applications, or the countless strings of unique and quotable dialogue, the wild misadventures of the 23-year-old slackers Mordecai and Rigby have established a massive cult following of both kids and adults alike. So why should a full-fledged mobile game based on the much beloved series be any different?

You've heard of the Very Hungry Caterpillar, but have you ever met Greedy Grub? Both insects are capable of eating half the world for their personal growth, but whereas the Caterpillar is restricted to the pages of his storybook, Grub exists in Greedy Grub, an adorable iOS world-building game. Greedy Grub tries some new ideas and most of them pan out, though you can still expect plenty of good old-fashioned waiting around thanks to its freemium model.
