We cover plenty of new games here at Gamezebo every week, but the number of games we’ve already covered that show up on new platforms? It’s staggering. This Wednesday and every Wednesday, Gamezebo is rounding up the games that aren’t quite new, but might be new to you depending on your platform of choice. And who doesn't love new(ish) games?

It can be very easy to shout "clone!" and refuse to play a game based on the fact that its screenshots and general outline appear to be copied directly from another video game. Sometimes, however, a game heavily inspired by another can bring some great, unique ideas to the surface that really make us question the original concept.

It seems like asynchronous strategy games have been getting more and more popular on iOS lately. It’s a trend I’m rather happy with since I happen to enjoy the sub-genre, but as with most surges in popularity, it has its drawbacks. Mostly, it’s that the glut of releases crowds the market, making it difficult to pick out the truly worthwhile examples. Sadly, Wizard Ops Tactics doesn’t stand out from that crowd.

I’ve always been a sucker for a great platform adventure game, and when you throw eye-popping 3D graphics that are supposed to resemble paper into the mix, well then you might as well have reached into my pocket and emptied out my wallet because I’m already sold. Unfortunately for Paper Titans, while the game holds true on its promise of providing plenty of paper, there is not one sheet of fun adventuring gameplay to be found.

Yo ho ho and a bottle of pop. What kid (or adult) doesn’t dream of a rogue’s life on the high sea? Max’s Pirate Planet – A Board Game Adventure is a board game-style title that gives players a whole planet to play pirate on. Youngsters will have a great time, though their parents may quickly become bored with the tedious mini-games.

Things have gone south for the Monopoly Man since he went south of the border. The apocalypse has begun at his Mexican zoo, with animals once on the endangered species list now part of the undead horde. Like any good corporation, the zookeeper has enlisted the help of immigrant children to do his dirty work. Fortunately for you, that dirty work is quite a lot of fun.

Why should the monsters have all the fun? “They shouldn’t,” is the correct answer to that question. In Haunted Hollow, now really and truly released on iOS by Firaxis and 2K Games, you get to share in the fun by building your own haunted house and unleashing monsters on an unsuspecting town: only someone else is trying to beat you to the punch in this fun and accessible, if slightly shallow strategy title.

)aren’t half bad, either. No, they’re not as huge as their PC or console cousins, but this is only to be expected of the medium, and there is still plenty of fun to be had. The recently released RPG Dark Avenger follows in these footsteps, and is packed with quite a bit more content than you might expect from a F2P title.
