Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain Review | Hardcore Gamer

Hardcore Gamer: "Nearly thirty years ago, a man by the name of Hideo Kojima had a vision of a grand stealth game. Over the multiple decades he and his own studio (Kojima Productions) continued to iterate on the idea, bringing along his remarkable attention to detail, even for the smallest aspects that many players may have failed to realize. With the unfortunate events occurring at Konami which lead to his departure, his final project under his studio is more of a swan song to everything he has accomplished, and what a way to go out."

Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain PlayStation 4 Review: All Good Things | USGamer

Added: 03.09.2015 16:18 | 7 views | 0 comments

USGamer: Hideo Kojima has never been what you would call a conservative designer. From the very start, he strained against the limitations of the medium, often with brilliant results. But with Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain, Kojima has taken a different approach. For what will almost certainly be Kojima's final turn with the series, he has thrown the proverbial kitchen sink into The Phantom Pain, producing what is easily the most expansive game in the series.

The Phantom Pain's Quiet is ruffling feathers: Is her 'sexualised' appearance warranted?

Added: 03.09.2015 16:18 | 9 views | 0 comments

MMGN writes: There is a reason as to why she shows so much skin -- Metal Gear creator Hideo Kojima said as much -- although that reasoning is now the cause of debate: discussion has now shifted away from why she's dressed the way she is, to whether or not the reasoning is, well, mature enough to justify the apparent sexualisation.

Metal Gear Week: The Top 50 Moments of Metal Gear Solid 4

Added: 03.09.2015 16:18 | 43 views | 0 comments

Scott Russell writes: "In celebration of Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pains release this week, the team at Power Up Gaming are recounting our love for the previous games in the series. While my opinion may be entirely divisive amongst the Metal Gear community, I still feel that Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots is the best of the series, and it is of course my favourite game of all time. Its moment to moment stealth action may be lacking in length, but its endless cutscenes and dialogue separate these vignettes of play with unsettling tension, paramount emotion and insanely superb minutiae. It can be seen as a masterpiece from almost every angle, and its difficult to select singular instances of greatness. As a result, I have produced a list of MGS4s top 50 unforgettable moments; a fitting number that represents its grandeur through precision and wide-spreading remembrance."

5 Big Problems With 'Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain'

Added: 03.09.2015 16:18 | 7 views | 0 comments

Forbes: Ive had a lot of fun with The Phantom Pain so far. The graphics are absolutely mind-blowing on the PS4. The deserts of Afghanistan are stunning, and riding across them is some of the best horse-based gameplay Ive had since Red Dead Redemptioncertainly quite a lot less frustrating than the horseback riding in The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt. But the game is not without its flaws, in spite of all the perfect scores its been receiving. And I dont even mean server problems, though there are many of these plaguing The Phantom Pains early days. (I havent been able to connect, and Im not the only one. Thank goodness the game is single-player at its core.) So, without further ado, the five biggest problems Ive encountered so far in Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain. Slight spoilers ahead.

Raidens better than Snake

Added: 03.09.2015 15:20 | 16 views | 0 comments

GE writes" "From the very beginning, Snake held a big place in our hearts as we made our way through Shadow Moses, and uncovering its many mysteries and beating the many strange bosses. He was the hero we knew and loved, so why would anyone want to play as another character? I remember being a child and playing games with my brother, telling him that Ill be Snake as I army crawled around the room as if on a secret stealth mission. Snake was the hero and seemingly made Metal Gear Solid all about good old Snake. Then, we came to Metal Gear Solid 2, and we began the game as our beloved and much updated Snake, making our way through the boat to uncover and expose the new Metal Gear. Its an intense mission and as it ends, you find yourself wanting more, and thats when Raiden comes in. Who is this blonde haired kid and why am I not playing as Snake?"
