Avoiderdragon: Call of Duty: Ghosts was more or less a low point for Activisions cash cow, having sold much less than expected and with a crowd that have become more or less jaded by the annual releases and the same old same old. Its time to set the If it aint broke, dont fix it mentality aside and come up with something fresher. That must have been what the higher ups in Activision had in mind when they had Sledgehammer Games make this.

Brett writes - "Its been seven whole years since we were first introduced to Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare and its now everlasting legacy on first person shooters. With it came what seems to be a never ending carousel of military shooters that didnt necessarily bring anything new to the formula. With Call of Duty Ghosts being a less than stellar experience, something drastic needed to be done."

Baden of WGB: "Last years Call of Duty: Ghosts was a low point for the series with a dull campaign and multiplayer that ignored the efforts of Treyarchs Black Ops II to move the franchise forward. This has left newcomer Sledgehammer Games with the task of cleaning up the mess, and to a large degree theyve done just so, and in the process painted Infinity Ward, the developer responsible for making Call of Duty a household name, as the weakest of the three teams now tasked with working on the series."

Hey Poor Player's Adam Foster writes: "Advanced Warfare feels like a fresh-yet-familiar step in the right direction, using some very cool mobility and affording new tactical options that the series desperately needed after Ghosts tepid showing. If this is any indication of what the three-year development cycle of a Call of Duty game will bring, Im all for it."
