The upcoming game That Dragon, Cancer is an indie game that not only pushes the boundaries of the medium, but uses the medium to bring you an experience that cannot be gained through a novel, film or play. The documentary Thank You for Playing takes us through the creation of this game and the suffering at the center of it Ryan Green is a father who creates a surreal game based on his experiences raising his young, cancer-ridden son. The film follows the Green family with a sure, deft control of its subject matter viewers are shown the small moments of happiness and love that persist amongst the looming threat of cancer.
