As consumers of media we often become attached to certain characters and the actors who portray them. Such is the case with the Metal Gear franchises main character, Snake. Since his vocal debut in 1998s Metal Gear Solid, Snake has always been voiced by actor David Hayter. Over the years his growly voice has become synonymous with the character. For most, David Hayter is Snake and vice versa. It came as a massive surprise, then, when Konami announced that David Hayter would not be returning to voice Snake in Metal Gear Solid V, and the veteran actor Kiefer Sutherland would be taking over the role. Naturally there was a lot of uproar among the community. Despite the backlash, I believe the decision to cast Sutherland as the lead makes sense and can be considered a smart move for Kojima Productions.

Destructoid: Republique was quite the ambitious Kickstarter project. With big names like Jennifer Hale and David Hayter attached, not to mention the million dollar budget, to say this stealth adventure promised quite a bit is an understatement. Having played the first of five episodes, I can safely say that most of the lofty goals have been met, but there is a bit more that's yet to be seen.

République is nothing if not ambitious. Its kickstarter campaign promised a triple-A-quality game for tablets, with top-grade voice talent (including David Hayter and Jennifer Hale), stunning graphics, and a big, Metroidvania-style world to explore. It also aimed to create a new sort of stealth gameplay purpose-built for touch screens, and to tell a deep, poignant story with a strong female lead. Astoundingly, if this first episode is any indication, Camoflaj + Logan seem to have delivered on all fronts.
