GR: Final Fantasy 7 has enjoyed one of the most... imaginative rumor mills in gaming. Most are just tall tales of multicolored Chocobos and secret limit breaks; but every so often - amazingly - one turns out to be true. Who would have guessed you could actually find Aeris' ghost or that the Japanese-only hidden monster Test-0 was for real? Such revelations gave credence to all other rumors, because if one hoax was true, any of them could be true, right? A next-generation remake was one of Final Fantasy 7's longest-running rumors. Now it's becoming reality, but why stop there? Square Enix has announced "dramatic change" for the remake. This is the perfect opportunity to give a nod and a wink to the fan community that made FF7 such as beloved success. Vanillaware made some of the prettiest games on PS2 with Odin Sphere and GrimGrimoire, and continued the trend on PS3 with Dragon's Crown. In 2016, we get to see what it would look like if Vanillaware made a PS4 game. Here are screenshots of Odin Sphere Leifthrasir:

The game will also be coming to PS3 and Vita, but judging by past games that have shared that same system lineup, it's safe to say the PS4 version will look the best, and likely handle the best as well. I presume it will get rid of those horrible frame rate drops that plagued the PS2 version, but we'll have to wait and see.
