BioShock Infinite Review - Forbes (Xbox 360 Version)

Added: 11.04.2013 6:18 | 15 views | 0 comments

Structurally, and despite its name, BioShock Infinite feels like a conclusion a representative of a pure, narrative-driven one-player game of a type being made less and less by large studios, and one of the last significant releases of this console cycle (the Xbox 360 version, which I played, is lovely to look at, but PC graphics on Ultra settings represent a massive improvement in texture detail and lighting). It also provides a conclusion of sorts to the BioShock project, although one should never say never when commercial concerns impinge. After a long development cycle and a marketing blitz, Irrational Games will have ambitious sales targets. This is a big game for Take-Two Interactive, especially after the failure of its second-tier publishing rival THQ: it is notable that the final, three-times-revised release date for BioShock Infinite did not slip past the final retail weekend of Take-Twos full year.

When the original Bioshock hit the market in 2008 it was received with very high praise, it received the game of the year and a changed the way a FPS is played. It took players to a under water city called Rapture, and was a perfect mold of a RPG and FPS, coupled with a great story. Then came the lack-lustered Bioshock 2 which brought you back to Rapture and was clearly a step backwards. Now with a new developer, Irrational Games, taking the reigns and taking the setting out of Rapture, we are now blessed with a third game Bioshock Infinite. We all have our questions, is it good? Will it be the best? And will we love it? And the answer is yes.

onPause Review: BioShock Infinite (Spoiler Free)

onPause writes: It was not until sometime in early 2009 that I finally played the original BioShock from Irrational Games and Ken Levine, the studios co-founder and creative director. It almost feels like there was something like an invisible line or barrier that I crossed that day, after I finished my adventure in Rapture the phrase Would you kindly would never leave my memory. BioShock was the first game that made me realize the incredible power of storytelling this medium could possess, and more importantly, that couldnt be matched by film or novels.

Hating On BioShock Infinite

Game Informer - Having played through Irrational's latest politically charged adventure, I have some problems. Spoilers ahead, so beware. Let's get one thing out of the way here: BioShock Infinite is awesome. I plowed through it in a weekend and enjoyed the hell out of the experience. The torrent of superlatives being thrown its way are getting out of control, though, and I suspect that Irrational can survive a little reality check after being blasted by a firehose of Internet love for a solid week.

PixlBit's Bioshock Infinite Review

Added: 09.04.2013 23:21 | 5 views | 0 comments

PixlBit | "The wait for BioShock Infinite has been extremely long for some. I however, failed to realize the hype until I finally finished the original BioShock just a mere six months ago. Though I experienced the game late, its effects still resonated with me, and I found myself extremely excited for more. Ken Levines promises sounded fascinating: A living breathing world, a constant and helpful partner, and a refinement to the core BioShock action. The only question for me was can Irrational Games pull it off? After finishing BioShock Infinite, I can easily say yes."
