SEGA Studio donating revenues to aid Nepal earthquake recovery

SEGA recently announced that it will donate all the revenue from a collection of in-game purchases to recovery efforts stemming from the recent earthquake in Nepal. Four games will be involved, including Phantasy Star Online 2, Puyo Puyo!! Quest, Chain Chronicle, and Hortensia Saga. SEGA Games will also donate a separate sum of US$16,800, with Red Cross Japan as the administrator.

Sega has announced in their latest financial result that the sales of Persona series have topped 6 million across all of the games. The number should increase further with the release of Persona 5 on the PS3 and PS4 and Persona 4: Dancing All Night on PS Vita in Japan this year. Persona has slowly crawled its way to popularity starting with games like Persona 3 and Persona 4 on the PlayStation 2. Persona 3 was later ported to the PlayStation Portable followed by Persona 4: Golden on the PlayStation Vita. Persona also got a spin-off fighting game called Persona 4: Arena. The latest entry in the series has now shipped 280 thousand copies across the PS3 and Xbox 360.
