Gears of War: Judgment Review | Globe and Mail

Globe and Mail: "Gears of War: Judgment just doesnt have a lot of epic moments, which an unfortunate irony when the developer calls itself Epic Games. While the series has taken a big step forward by reining in its worst excesses, it also takes one back by shying away from what made it great to begin with. As such, Judgment is a familiar experience that, at this point in time, is just treading water."

Review: Is Gears of War: Judgment Cherry Coke or New Coke? | XMNR

Added: 18.03.2013 20:18 | 5 views | 0 comments

XMNR: The Coca-Cola Company has tried different formulas for its flagship soft drink through the year. The most infamous is New Coke which was received negatively and caused the return of the traditional flavor as Coke Classic. Then there is Cherry Coke which adds a flavorful twist and found its own niche of fans. Gears of War: Judgment for the Xbox 360 find itself in a similar position to these Coke flavors as Bulletstorm studio People Can Fly has brought changes to the core Gears formula. The question as the embargo lifted Monday is do these changes make Judgment like New Coke or Cherry Coke?

Review: Gears Of War: Judgment [eGamer]

Quote: "With Gears of War: Judgment I honestly felt as if I was being served half a helping of each course of a meal. While nothing is badly done, no aspect of this game truly excels and that ends up working against the title overall. If you want a sterling singleplayer experience or a similarly sterling multiplayer experience, you won't find it here, but you will find a good overall experience. Judgment feels, in many ways, like an expansion-styled addition to Gears of War 3 rather than a full-on standalone title. Treat it as such. "

"You have to have a fresh and innovative design.".
My god, the news. WHERE IS THE NEWS? Save for this morning's Gears of War: Judgment review, Xbox-flavoured happenings are decidedly thin on the ground right now. Why, I almost found myself writing a news piece about the Walking Dead: Survival Instinct - a game we've yet to receive review code for, which goes on sale tomorrow, and is thus, in all probability, rubbish.
