Once a week most weeks, the RPS hivemind gathers to discuss An Issue. Sometimes its controversial news, sometimes its a particular game, sometimes its a perennial talking point. What expectations and entitlements do we have from developers crowdfunding promises? Are people buying dreams, or investing in chances? And what about that there Star Citizen, eh?

Review: Armello | Controller Crusade

Added: 12.09.2015 18:17 | 36 views | 0 comments

"The successfully funded Kickstarter project Armello is a game with many layers. Its a fantasy board game peppered with features of an RPG, with a bit of card game mixed in. Armello blends all of these features extremely well, and creates an enchanting experience, but could use improvement on the social aspect of the game."

Added: 12.09.2015 11:17 | 11 views | 0 comments

Keith from the Outerhaven writes: As I was sitting down from a hard day at work, about to enjoy some Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain, when I noticed something. My Mighty No. 9 game had started to download an update, however I was pretty sure that Comcept and crew started that the "Special Demo" would not launch until September 15, 2015. So I waited for the download to complete and fired up the game and sure enough, that "Special Demo" was just downloaded to my PC. So I need what anyone else would do and fired it up to see if it would load.

Added: 11.09.2015 3:17 | 38 views | 0 comments

Greg Micek writes: "Does this mean James is going to run off with $376k (cad)? No, not at all. In fact, Last Year already has something that James previous games didnt; funding. However, it does mean that by funding Last Year backers are entitled to better communication from James than what hes delivered in the past. Simply disappearing like he did with Police Warfare and Outrise is not an option."

Crashnauts and the Golden Age of Couch Gaming

Added: 09.09.2015 21:17 | 25 views | 0 comments

Sean Appleby writes: "In the last few years there has been a great resurgence in couch based multilayer games, so with it comes the Kickstarter for Crashnauts. A fast paced 2D shooter coming to both PC and PS4, it's marketing self as being an objective focused, hectic, multilayer experience. Being at a very early stage in its Kickstarter with less than $4,000 pledged of its $40,000 goal with 28 days left, its got some distance to go but what they have so far looks promising."
