Razer today announced a new premium mousepad that needs to be plugged in to fully function, as it comes equipped with LEDs along three of its sides. Called the Razer Firefly, this "hard gaming mouse mat" features customizable lights along the left, right, and bottom borders. The Firefly uses the same Chroma lighting feature seen in a handful of Razer devices that allow them to sync up with each other. earlier this year, game developers can use Chroma to sync up the lights in these devices to events in a game--for instance, flashing them red when you're killed. It remains to be seen how widely the tech is adopted, though, considering how few devices currently support it.
