Best of 2014 Awards: Best Action Game

Added: 22.12.2014 22:00 | 3 views | 0 comments

Winner: Bayonetta 2 When you think of action gaming, you can't really consider the genre without bringing up one name and this Nintendo Wii U exclusive furthers Hideki Kamiya's ability to craft a white-knuckled thrill ride. While you could look to the likes of The Wonderful 101 for unique action and style, Bayonetta 2 largely overrides nuanced design to play smoothly for gamers of all skill levels. Easing the difficulty curve, providing tons of unique weapons, and allowing dedicated players to dress Bayonetta in a seriously foxy outfit made this one of the best experiences of 2014. Nominees: Destiny, Bayonetta 2, Far Cry 4, Wolfenstein: The New Order, Halo: The Master Chief Collection Read our Bayonetta 2 review here>>

LittleBigPlanet 3 Review | Spong

Spong: Until recently I'd not owned a PlayStation for over ten years, meaning I've missed out on a number of exclusives, such as Uncharted, God of War and LittleBigPlanet. As seems to be the way with consoles, their exclusive platforming title ends up spawning their mascot, whether that's Mario, Sonic, Master Chief (OK, I know Halo isn't a platformer, but people seem to jump around a lot so give me a break), or in Sony's case Sackboy. So as a LittleBigPlanet virgin and the relatively recent owner of a PS4 I've been looking forward to getting my hands on Sack Thing (as he's often referred to in LBP3) and seeing what all the fuss is about.
