Tales of Xillia 2 - GR Review

Added: 23.08.2014 2:00 | 12 views | 0 comments

Another tale of two cities.

The first Tales of Xillia came out just one year ago and stood out as another solid entry in the beloved Tales franchise. It even did well enough to inspire an immediate sequel, a rarity within the series. The short downtime between releases works in the favor of and against Tales of Xillia 2, a sequel that makes subtle tweaks but fails to establish a singular identity. In many ways it's more of the same, a quality that will likely appeal to fans of the first game and potentially disappoint those hoping for something more.

The game picks up one year after the events of its predecessor, in which a 2000-year-old barrier between Rieze Maxia and Elympios was dispelled in an effort to unite the two nations and improve their tenuous relationship. A terrorist group threatens the attempt for stability, though, and it gives way to a narrative that explores familial relationships and dimensional travel, amongst other things. The game juggles a lot of disparate story threads, so much so that it weakens the overall narrative. Events take a while to really get going, which marks the opening hours as particularly weak. But Tales of Xillia 2 compensates with a strong cast of characters, which includes both new and familiar faces.

Tales of Xillia 2 Launch Trailer (HD)

THE POWER OF CHOICE One year after the climatic events of Tales of Xillia in which the two worlds, Rieze Maxia and Elympios, were united by the destruction of the barrier that separated the two worlds. Elympios is a modern nation with a high level of technological advancement gained through the use of spyrix, whereas Rieze Maxia is a previously isolated land which relies on spirit artes and nature. While both worlds work towards peace together, there are still numerous clashes due to cultural differences and it will be some time before true peace is achieved. Jude, Milla and the cast of the original Tales of Xillia from Rieze Maxia now strive to live their lives and fight for peace in this newly reunited world. Tales of Xillia 2 centers around Ludger Kresnik, a young man and a skilled chef who lives in Trigleph city in Elympios with his brother Julius and their cat Rollo. He strives to follow in his brother’s footsteps and work as an agent in the prestigious Spirius Corporation, a large scale and illustrious company that develops technology for every field imaginable. One day, through a chance encounter, he meets Elle Marta: a young girl travelling alone attempting to reunite with her father at the mythic “Land of Canaan” and ends up accompanying her. His choice to accompany her will send the two on a journey that will change the fate of the two worlds forever.

Cities: Skylines announced at Paradox fan event

Added: 14.08.2014 21:13 | 17 views | 0 comments

Perhaps the most surprisingly reveal of Paradoxs Gamescom event was Cities: Skylines, an old school city builder from Colossal Order. Theyre the developers behind the Cities in Motion series and their new game seems, somewhat, to be the antidote to Maxis most recent effort with SimCity.

The Sims 4 Details Emotions in New Trailer

Added: 01.08.2014 0:30 | 10 views | 0 comments

Electronic Arts and Maxis promise that the characters you create in The Sims 4 will be smarter, feature unique personalities, and stand out with some very emotional reactions.

Specifically, players will obviously be able to customize the appearance of their characters, but they'll also have the opportunity to shape each sims personalities and define characters by their traits and activities. When a sim has an aspiration, you can ignore it or pursue it but your Sim will react depending on what you choose to do.
