Lightning Returns: Final Fantasy XIII Xbox 360 Review (Console Monster)

Added: 19.10.2014 17:12 | 10 views | 0 comments

Console Monster writes: "Its been a bumpy road for Square-Enix over the recent past. Some great Western releases gained from the acquisition of developer Eidos (such as Tomb Raider and Sleeping Dogs) have kept the company current and more than afloat, however when it comes to the franchises that we have come to know and love Square for, it is safe to say hard times have been fallen upon. Chief among these is Squares long running JRPG series, Final Fantasy which seems to have fallen harder from grace than most and subsequently found itself on the frontlines when it comes to franchise criticism. This especially seems the case with regards to the Final Fantasy XIII IP, which despite serving as a more than competent set of RPGs, seems to highlight where square have gone wrong with hardcore fans."

Alien Isolation Xbox One Review (Console Monster)

Added: 19.10.2014 16:12 | 27 views | 0 comments

Console Monster writes: "Aliens translation from celluloid to joypad has been a trial, to say the least. The series that began with director Ridley Scotts eponymous 1979 masterpiece is an icon of cinema, while sadly the games conceived in its image have fallen short of the mark. 2013s tragic stillbirth of a game, Aliens: Colonial Marines signalled a shit or get off the pot moment for SEGA and the IP, after roundly disgusting players and critics alike. The Alien games have been entirely missing the point of the series from which they were spawned, until now. TCA have wound back the clocks and brought the focus away from the sequels and back to Scott, writer OBannon and lead artist H.R. Gigers vision, and Alien Isolation is all the stronger a survival horror experience for it, and perhaps even one of the most enticing titles of the year so far."
