EA: "We don't deliver offline experiences any more"

Added: 26.08.2013 18:57 | 1 views | 0 comments

COO Peter Moore says gamers want to be connected; free-to-play options for every major EA franchise in the works.

Electronic Arts is moving away from offline games, COO Peter Moore has told in a new interview from Gamescom.

"We're seeing more and more of the online experience being part-and-parcel of every game. We don't ship a game at EA that is offline; just doesn't happen," Moore said.

Moore explained that gamers want to be connected for a variety of purposes, including keeping tabs on in-game statistics and achievements, as well as playing online multiplayer.

"So yeah, we don't deliver offline experiences any more."

Also in the interview, Moore said free-to-play options will be coming to every major EA franchise in the time ahead.

"The ability for you to be able to interact with those franchises on a free-to-play basis is going to be part-and-parcel with every major franchise we do now," Moore said. "And that's very important to Electronic Arts."

Some of EA's biggest franchises include Star Wars, Battlefield, Dragon Age, Mass Effect, Command & Conquer, Madden, and The Sims, among others.

Spicing up Zelda Symphony: An interview with Chad Seiter

Added: 24.08.2013 7:19 | 10 views | 0 comments

"Chiptunes dont translate to a vast orchestral piece as easily as one might think. Performing a videogame composition once and then looping it for another go may be passable in some venues, but in the case of an orchestra playing the widely cherished The Legend of Zelda series soundtracks, there needs to be an added level of pizzaz to spice it all up. With The Legend of Zelda: Symphony of the Goddesses, this includes selecting tracks that best represent specific games and tying them into a movement that tells that games story. Producers Jeron Moore and Jason Michael Paul have spoken passionately about the formation of the show, so it only seemed fitting to continue along and talk to Chad Seiter, the symphonys orchestrator. You might know his name from some of his film and TV composing work for Lost, Fringe and this years Star Trek game." - Patrick Kulikowski

Corey Moore writes, A lot of interesting stuff happened aside from all of the fighting game tournament goodness at this year's EVO; most notably Capcom announced that once again they will be updating Super Street Fighter 4 into Ultra Street Fighter 4. As you can expect, the internet was not pleased in the slightest, even the minority amount of dedicated fans werent amused with this announcement. As a fan of the series and a potential buyer of the update, I do have a few issues of my own.

GTAV Advert In NYC Promotes Only PS3, Sorry Xbox

Added: 07.08.2013 0:20 | 9 views | 0 comments

After the notorious and equally embarrassing Peter Moore tattoo reveal that the Xbox 360 would have exclusive content for GTAIV, it may come as a surprise to see Grand Theft Auto V instead aligned with Sony. As Daniel had pointed out previously, an exclusive GTAV PS3 bundle is coming, as is a GTAV-branded Pulse ELITE headset for the PS3, and with all currently released GTAV footage being promoted as the PS3 version of the game, it's as if Rockstar has forgotten that the Xbox 360 version even exists.
