Mortal Kombat X for mobiles and tablets is not quite what wed call a traditional companion app. Although there are certainly ties to its console and PC brethren, this app can be played as a standalone version of NetherRealms latest gorefest, albeit a slightly watered down one. Still, for the sweet price of nothing, its certainly worth checking out, even if it doesnt give you a real taste of the full MK X package.

MKX should last a long time. Several variations of the usual Arcade Mode, silly mini-game online, long campaign, and finally, "crypt", make the game more dynamic.

Mortal Kombat X is by far the best entry the franchise has had. NetherRealm has proved themselves yet again that the series is not dead and they have the potential to bring back newcomers and veterans alike.
