Drew Leachman writes: Im an avid Dungeons and Dragons player. Yes, the pen and paper version. The openness throughout a personal story is what keeps me playing. Aside from Baldurs Gate, I have never really played a DD video game before. Now that I have played Chronicles of Mystara, I feel like this is a genre I need to explore some more.

I am truly terrible at side-scrolling brawlers. I die constantly and generally find them unenjoyable, but I had a lot of fun playing Dungeons and Dragons: Chronicles of Mystara. Chronicles of Mystara bundles the games Tower of Doom and Shadow Over Mystara into one package at a single price. The title features updated graphics, Trophy support and has actually aged really well.

Review: Dungeons Dragons: Chronicles of Mystara [Save/Continue]

Save/Continue writes: "Ask any retro gamer to name some of his favorite arcade titles from years past and nine times out of ten, the Dungeon Dragons series will get mentioned. Its four player beat em up action was an arcade staple back in the 90s in two different games, Dungeons Dragons: Tower of Doom and Dungeons Dragons: Shadow Over Mystara, both from Capcom. When it was announced that both of these arcade classics would finally come to XBLA, PSN, PC and the Wii U eShop, there was much rejoicing, but did our wait pay off or is this something thats better left in the 90s along with Nelson and pegged jeans? DT:Chronicles of Mystara is worth the purchase for any fans of beautiful sprite-based artwork or classic beat 'em ups. It's only flaws come from the technical limitations of its time and the design decisions that defined the arcade era. Gauntlet, Golden Axe, and Cadash all suffer from similar issues. Thankfully, Shadow Over Mystara trounces them all. It's the king of DD-themed arcade action games, and should be respected as such.
