Chalgyr's Game Room writes: Most of the time when multiple game genres are mixed into a melding pot or alchemic cauldron to synthesize something new I'm rather wary. When Atlus announced that it would be performing a fusion of the cast of Personas 3 and 4 into an Etrian Odyssey dungeon crawling game style I was curious to say the least. My biggest worry was that I was afraid that the stellar casts would be lost to the more mechanics based game type. Having yet to play Millennium Girl (as it continues to stare me down from across the room on the shelf dedicated to my DS library) I wasn't quite sure what to expect when adding a Persona like story to the Dungeon Crawl. Knowing Atlus I should have known better, as there was nothing to worry about.

We get the feeling that nobody believes us about how great Etrian Odyssey is. Weve been raving about the games for years and yet the response from readers has been nothing but tumbleweeds and mild bemusement. We realise an old school dungeon crawler where you have to draw your own map on the touchscreen doesnt sound that exciting, but its definitely been one of our favourite Japanese role-playing franchises of the last several years. The only one weve enjoyed more is Persona 3 and 4, so you can imagine our excitement in finding out this is a crossover between the two (well, three)."

Atlus recently announced Etrian Odyssey and Mystery Dungeon, a collaboration title between their dungeon crawler and Spike Chunsofts roguelike. It looks like Play-Asia may have accidentally leaked the localization ahead of time with a page for Etrian Mystery Dungeon.
