GXC: "Repetitive missions, a lackluster story elements that usually make a game unworthy of spending hours of our lives playing. But when those faults are overshadowed by deep and engaging gameplay, you tend to forget about those imperfections. This is what you find with Ragnarok Odyssey ACE an upgrade to the 2012 release of the PlayStation Vita exclusive, Ragnarok Odyssey. Now on both the PS3 and Vita, ACE takes the original game and adds even more content to the already jam-packed original game. This addition of new gameplay elements and content in turn makes the game all the more worthwhile despite its many faults."

Ragnarok Odyssey Ace Let's get something out of the way right here - at time of writing, Monster Hunter is not available for PS Vita in any form. Until that game finally rolls around, you've got a few imitators of the basic "grab giant weapons and slay equally giant monsters" gameplay available - and Ragnarok Odyssey Ace is at the front of that pack. It's not a perfect game, but it's still a fine contender for y...

Ragnarok Odyssey ACE Review | PS Vita Reviews

PS Vita Reviews has gotten their thoughts and made a review for the newly-released Ragnarok Odyssey Ace. "If youre a fan of the Hunting genre and Ragnarok Online, or enjoyed the original Ragnarok Odyssey, you will be at home with this game. There is a lot of new content to dive into, from Mercenaries to the Tower of Yggdrasil to ACE Skills. Despite this, it will still feel very much like the original game. There is still a lot of repetition involved and if you cannot really get into the battle system, you wont enjoy this game much. But if you can, theres a lot to do." Ragnarok Odyssey ACE (PS3, PS Vita) - Review on Popzara

Ragnarok Odyssey ACE is a great example of a "clone" done right, especially when it comes to that of popular titles (i.e. Monster Hunter and others like it) that aren't accessible on the platforms they make the most sense on. It's a great starting place for budding beast slayers, especially if you didn't play the game during its first time on store shelves. Full review by Brittany Vincent.

oprainfall writes: "The original Ragnarok Odyssey is set in the same universe as the 2003 MMO. Of course, given the fact that one is a top-down RPG and the other is of the monster-hunting genre, that didnt exactly do much to prepare me. I did, however, know what a Poring was beforehand, so theres that. With a name like Ragnarok, you can probably guess the game would have some Nordic themes. While this is true, the connections are pretty loose, with only passing references to things like Valhalla, and some monsters named after creatures from Nordic mythology. The game starts much the same as other monster-hunting games you are the newcomer in a town with an established group of hunters, and it is your job to venture out and kill different enemies or collect materials in a series of progressively more difficult quests. That said, it isnt exactly fair to boil a game down to its most basic concept like that, so lets take a closer look."
