"Yet in spite of these most egregious of technical difficulties, I couldnt help but become enthralled by Enslaved: Odyssey to the West. Loosely (to the point where one might consider the linking knot to be untied) based on Journey to the West, Enslaved follows Monkey and Tripitaka (Trip here) as they journey Westward (I presume that was the direction they were heading) across a post-apocalyptic America, starting in New York, and ending inmy American geography is not so good." - Writes Tom Towers.

Enslaved Odyssey to the West Review - GamesReviews

Added: 05.11.2013 0:18 | 10 views | 0 comments

From GamesReviews: "Enslaved Odyssey to the West was a criminally underrated title based on the Chinese classic Journey to the West, made popular in the UK by television show Monkey (or Monkey Magic, if youre from the US). Unfortunately, sales seemed to be about as lousy as the reviews, and with the announcement of DmC: Devil May Cry, Enslaved got thrown out by the anti-Ninja Theory crowd."

Remember the days when all of the greatest computer games were simply Flash-based experiences that you could play online? Well a lot has certainly changed in the gaming world since then, but one thing that's managed to stay the same is that amazing Flash games on the internet are still as prevalent as ever! And the best part is that with all of the recent innovations in mobile technology, more and more fantastic web-based Flash games are being ported right onto your touchscreen device; and the next one in line will be none other than King's League: Odyssey from Gamenauts and Kurechii Studio.

King's League: Odyssey is a full-fledged iOS port of the top three strategy Flash game on Kongregate, which also earned the popular gaming portal's coveted "Game of the Month" award for April 2013. Blending equal elements of resource-management and role playing gameplay, the iOS version will take everything that players know and love of King's League: Odyssey and make it shine for the touchscreen. The upcoming mobile release is said to completely revamp the world of the modest Flash game with sparkling HD graphics, and brand new mobile-exclusive content including additional dungeons, characters, enemies, and quests.

In the game, players are tasked with training recruits from a number of medieval class systems, such as Lancers, Berserkers, and Hunters, as they set off to conquer enemy towns and cities to acquire new resources and make their name resound across the kingdoms. With each new town that players ransack, they'll be able to upgrade the strength of their training facilities, and as a result, level-up their units to hold their own in battle in the increasingly difficulty kingdom leagues. In addition to the main storyline, King's League: Odyssey also offers a handful of optional side quests, as well as the punishing Battlethon mode, which is certain to separate the boys from the kings!

Pixel-Fright-Us: Aliens, AIs and Malicious Machines

(Editors note: In celebration of Halloween, the Pixelitis staff is outlining 31 of their favorite horror games in Pixel-Fright-Us. The following games are not listed in any specific order.) "At last we reach our frightening conclusion to Pixel-Fright-Us. Science fiction is a perfect compliment to horror. Nothing is scarier than the fear of the unknown and the inhuman. Tales of beings that exist beyond the stars and hold dangerous intentions for humanity rank themselves as some of the oldest forms of horror and have translated into both great movies and great games. Machines and rogue computer AI are just as deadly. What happens when something you create turns against you or deems you obsolete? One needs to only look at the evil computer HAL from 2001: A Space Odyssey for the answer to that question. These narratives, some of which are actual adaptations of science fiction stories, spawned games where fear is that much more heightened due to the distinctly inhuman forces...
