Edge - "For the first few days, things were a bit too quiet on PlayStation 4. Its only since the EU servers were switched on late last week that the front end of Sonys system has come to life for us and what weve seen since has been mixed. Theres an awful lot to like about PS4s OS and interface, but much that needs fixing, too."

Lets face it, when it came to the PS3 their were many things I didnt like about it. The XMB main interface felt detached and a bit lifeless. Multiple monthly mandatory updates that interrupted gameplay, and no cross game chat made the entire thing feel desolate. Not to mention the proprietary technology that made developing for the PS3 less pleasant to work on then other consoles. The Playstation 4 writes most of PS3s wrong and even advances upon them.

NGB wrote: "The weighty gunplay, challenging enemy AI and lack of aim assist might be a turn off for some, but spend time with Killzone: Shadow Fall, embrace its hardcore tendencies, and youll uncover what is arguably the best first-person shooter experience available on a console. Killzone has always been an amazingly visceral shooter, and that aspect is even more prevalent now thanks to the jaw dropping visuals. Im pretty sure launch titles arent meant to look this damn good! Great thing is the core experience remains exactly the same in multiplayer too, losing none of its quality.
Sure, the story couldve done with a bit more work and there are a couple of slightly frustrating sections, but they dont really detract from the overall quality present in the package. Ill put it this way, if you like first-person shooters and want a game to show off the PS4s power, Killzone: Shadow Fall is pretty much essential."
