Borderlands: The Handsome Collection Review | GameCloud Australia

Added: 20.04.2015 19:17 | 9 views | 0 comments

Patrick Waring at GameCloud Australia writes: "I love Borderlands as a series, so if this collection had also included the first game, with all of its DLC, then maybe it would be worth it. All of the games in a single, easy to access collection would be pretty great, and if theyd released some additional content to go along with it, then it would have been amazing. As it stands, this is good value for money if you dont own either game, and thats about it. You cant easily switch between the games, there are still bugs present, one of the games is missing, and the extra content in the form of Claptastic Voyage wouldve been coming out regardless. But hey, apparently its already gone Gold status anyway, so maybe Gearbox will let us have the first game after all."

Star Wars: Battlefront Takes One Step Forward and Two Steps Back

Added: 19.04.2015 20:17 | 5 views | 0 comments

Hardcore Gamer: "Lets start off with the good (and highly exciting) news. The Star Wars: Battlefront gameplay we saw was captured on PS4 in its pre-alpha PS4 footage and according to Patrick Bach, General Manager of DICE, Thats as bad as it can possibly look. Hopefully itll look even better when we actually ship the game. If thats true, were in for quite possibly the best looking game thus far of the generation."

Helldivers Review | GameCloud Australia

Added: 07.04.2015 7:18 | 7 views | 0 comments

Patrick Waring at GameCloud Australia writes: "I like to imagine that the devs were giggling away to themselves while making this game, just as I was while playing it. The entire game is tongue-in-cheek and has a refreshingly heavy focus on making some solid gameplay, even if that gameplay leads to smashed controllers and incoherently raging at online strangers. I would have liked for there to be a bit -game exploration of the story that surrounds Super Earth, but its absence doesnt negatively impact the game. While the visuals arent particularly amazing, the music is definitely spot-on for the ultra-jingoistic atmosphere that theyre trying to create. Whether you love or hate this game rests entirely in how much patience you have for dying over and over, and whether you can get in on the joke. For me, that wasnt a huge ask and Ill happily throw myself to the grinder for the glory of Super Earth!"

Nintendo's amiibo figures are the Beanie Babies of the video game generation

Added: 07.04.2015 7:17 | 8 views | 0 comments

Patrick Scott Patterson of G4@Syfygames writes: "Nobody could have predicted the wild craze that would fire up over Nintendo's amiibo figures. When they debuted at E3 2014 they appeared to be yet another gimmick in the video game world that people would think were cool at first, only to quickly die off. Not the case this time. As soon as it became clear that certain amiibo figures would be released in smaller numbers than others and that some would be store exclusives, the fans and the resellers would start a frenzy that would literally see people line up out the door of video game stores, crash websites and create a wild aftermarket where some people gladly pay a premium for their favorite figures while others condemn the resellers they call "scalpers" and blame them for the whole fuss."
