There's nothing quite like the build-up to a console launch for dilating the fabric of space-time, turning minutes into hours, hours into days, days into more days. I don't know about you, but the past few months have absolutely ground past for me, as one controversy spawns another like some enemy-dispensing sideroom in a Modern Warfare game.

Battlefield 5 is due to release "in just a few years", according to a report by the New York Times. The paper claims to have spoken to DICE about the unannounced sequel in a recent interview, with Battlefield 4's executive producer Patrick Bach promising "More features. More extras. More destruction" for the next game.

DICE teases first info on unannounced Battlefield.

The paper claims to have spoken to DICE about the unannounced sequel in a recent interview, with Battlefield 4's executive producer Patrick Bach promising "More features. More extras. More destruction" for the next game.

"Every new game needs to be the next big thing," Bach added.

Of course, it seems a little early for DICE to be talking about Battlefield 5. Battlefield 4, the next game in the series, doesn't hit stores until next week with 12 months of Premium content set to follow.
