Added: 13.10.2013 13:17 | 7 views | 0 comments

"A full-fledged Comic Con day is never complete without the cosplay. And what a treat it was today. Weve got some wacky stuff, including Capn Crunch, Nina from Breath of Fire II and Tenzin from The Legend of Korra. Staffer Patrick Kulikowski nearly blew up on the spot when he saw Nina In any case, it was a packed show floor with tons of friendly cosplayers milling about and showing off their detailed works of art. We also got a wicked awesome picture of Eiji Aonuma of Zelda fame with a ton of Links, Zeldas and even a Charles Barkley hanging around. Check out the chock-a-block-full gallery of images and find yourself or your friends." - Pixelitis Staff

[NYCC '13] Out of the shadows: Thief preview - Pixelitis

Added: 12.10.2013 13:18 | 1 views | 0 comments

"I should probably preface this preview by saying that I have yet to play any of the classic Thief games, although they do sit all on their lonesome in my Steam library. Nevertheless, I do recognize them as pioneers of the stealth genre that weave steampunk into a dark environment filled with precious loot ripe for swiping. Given the ten-year dearth of anything Thief-related, Eidos Montreal is not considering this newest entry as a sequel or remake of the previous games. This current and next-gen title is more of a reimagining, taking parts of the older titles and mixing it in with new mechanics." - Patrick Kulikowski

Despite what Maxis and EA have claimed earlier this year when SimCity had its disastrous release, Maxis is now looking into creating an offline mode for the always-online SimCity.

The news comes from a blog post written by Patrick Buechner, General Manager of the Maxis Emeryville studio. Within, he makes announcements regarding things the Maxis team is working on to improve SimCity, such as DLC, the Cities of Tomorrow expansion pack, the possibility of allowing for bigger cities (not happening), and guidelines for user-generated content. Then he drops a bomb that Maxis is "exploring" creating an offline mode for the game.
