The Pixelitis Podcast Ep. 52 Back in the saddle
Added: 29.07.2013 18:18 | 4 views | 0 comments
"Following last weeks in-person shenanigans on the Pixelitis Podcast, its back to the old setup, with long-time host Andrew Martins leading the show. It only took 50 episodes for someone else to host the damn thing, after all.
Along for the ride are Patrick Kulikowski and Karen Rivera, who have both formed ACNLA - Animal Crossing: New Leaf Anonymous. Its got a 12-step program that naturally begins with having to admit your addiction to cute townspeople and catchy sea songs sung by a frog.
Theyve both got a long way to go toward recovery.
As for the show itself, weve got a very special treat for you guys, as Video Game Orchestra leader Shota Nakama recently took some time to sit down with Patrick for an interview. In it, he talks about his work on Lightning Returns: Final Fantasy XIII and what his favorite RPG battle theme is.
So sit back and be sure to hit the play button below and/or subscribe to us on iTunes. Were on Stitcher Radio, too."

"uly 25, 2013 was the moment that many cyberpunks and Shadowrun fans have been waiting for: Shadowrun Returns is finally available on Steam and as a DRM-free version for backers.
Thankfully, the game isnt a pile of drek, scoring some decent 7 9 scores. From the limited time Ive had with it, it hearkens back to the fantastic isometric, turn-based games of yore, while incorporating a well-written story and some finely-drawn environments. If youve ever played Fallout or the SNES and Genesis Shadowruns, then this game is for you.
For other things Steam, theres an early access beta for Mercenary Kings, which you should totally keep your eyes on, and if you feel like youve had a void in your life thats yearning for DLC for a movie, theres bonus DLC for Indie Game: The Movie out there. Youve read that correctly."

PixlBit | "Hello again! Patrick is on vacation in New York City this week, so it's up to Julian and new third chair Angelo to hold down the fort. Somehow, they manage to ramble on for two hours about this, that, and the other thing.
What was supposed to be the shortest edition of Consumption Junction ever turns into a lengthy, meandering discussion. Angelo has a problem with huffing, and Julian has an aversion to the first person perspective. The guys talk about parental Final Fantasy bans, Treasure games, eradicating the word "shmup" from the gamer lexicon, and close out the section with Julian's best WWE Raw moment ever, Comic Con, and Pacific Rim. Whew!"

| EA's Soderlund: "It will be a different Mirror's Edge" | GRTV interview
Added: 26.07.2013 12:16 | 12 views | 0 comments
GRTV talked to EA Games executive vice president Patrick Soderlund about E3, announcements, Mirror's Edge, DICE and more, on the new Mirror's Edge he said:
"It's taken this long because we wanted to get to the right concept and the right idea. And Sara Jansson who is producer on it, when she pitched her idea to me and Karl-Magnus, the GM for DICE, I was frankly blown away. I'm like "Finally, you've got it!" and when you hear something like that... She pitched an idea that frankly could only be built on gen 4, is a stunning concept, and when she came to us we knew we had it. And yes, we've been testing ideas and we've been prototyping stuff, and I'm glad that we waited to get the right idea."

| Pixelitis talks with Zelda Symphony producer Jason Michael Paul
Added: 26.07.2013 6:16 | 11 views | 0 comments
"On June 12, 2013, several miles away from the insanity of E3, The Legend of Zelda: Symphony of the Goddesses celebrated its 50th performance on at the Greek Theatre in LA.
To mark that momentous occasion, I sat down with producers Jeron Moore and Jason Michael Paul to talk about how the desire to bring Zelda music to a concert hall came about, as well as how certain facets, such as the construction of the setlist and their ongoing relationship with Nintendo fared.
While the interview with Moore has been published for some time now, there are always things that get kind of lost in the shuffle, my interview with Jason Michael Paul unfortunately being one of them. But now that were in a far tamer point in time, with E3 having subsided and the Zelda Symphony continuing its tour around America, I find it appropriate to finally share it with you."
