Title Screens That Say A Thousand Words: Gaming's Best - Part One

Phil writes, "The title screen-- it's been with us for countless decades now. Whenever there is a game, there is a screen that shows what the name of it is. For the first time on SuperPhillip Central, we'll be taking a look at some of the best title screens in gaming history. Since there are so many good ones to choose from, this is but part one of what I plan to be a long-running series. Whether they're animated, offer some interaction, or are just plain cool looking, these title screens are what SuperPhillip Central considers to be the absolute best of a big bunch."

Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain Review | GameCloud

Brendan Holben at GameCloud Australia writes: "In a strange way, The Phantom Pain turns out to be quite an apt description for this game. Were profoundly aware theres something missing here, and its possible we wont be truly satisfied. There are a few glaring issues in The Phantom Pain that could have sunk it, but in the end the incredible sandbox gameplay is just too good to dismiss. The series has always been about bombastic plots and super-refined gameplay, so the sting here is that Kojimas swan song had to be compromised for the worse. Dont get me wrong: The Phantom Pain is a brilliant game Im just grieving what could have been."

Put Your (Video Game) Records On - Soundtracks Are More Important Than You Think

Added: 18.09.2015 7:17 | 65 views | 0 comments

Paul from EGMR writes: "I was going through my YouTube history the other day and I discovered something rather terrifying, I am exceptionally fond of video game music. Now don't get me wrong, this isn't in any way a bad thing. It's just quite weird that, out of all the things I could be watching on YouTube, I choose to mostly listen to the soundtracks from games I have played or are planning to play. As I'm sitting typing this up, I'm currently listening to the Metal Gear Rising OST which is my go-to work music, but more on that later. So this raises the question of what exactly drives someone to do this? I mean surely it would be better to appreciate these sounds in their 'natural habitat'?"
