Pokémon is a venerable series, long respected by devotees of Nintendo. The studio's been synonymous with Pikachu and his pals for past seventeen years now and considering its last non-Pokémon game was eight years ago (Drill Dozer on the Game Boy Advance) it's little wonder gamers associate it with nothing else. Target stores are already selling out of their stock. As I can attest, the special edition 3DS with Pikachu on the lid was doled out sparingly to stores and, as a result, was selling out shortly after it opened. The Target in Arlington Heights, Illinois received three Pikachu 3DS XLs. I was there at 7am and there was already a line forming. By the time the store opened at 8, there were eleven of us. I remember dashing to the electronics department, hearing a crowd of teenagers behind me chanting, Pikachu!"
