PA: Now that its over and done, I cant say I rightly understand why Capcom chose to initially release Resident Evil: Revelations 2 as a series of four episodes rather than just one game. I enjoyed having a little classic-meets-modern (but mostly classic) Resident Evil treat each Tuesday over the last month, but I dont see how it was a boon to storytelling or play. If anything, the experience felt shoehorned into the format, with environments and story designed to fit a certain space rather than to naturally fit the flow of the adventure.

The much-anticipated return for the Rock Band series with Rock Band 4, which has the potential to revive the peripheral-based rhythm genre, has been slated for October and will run at 1080p at 60fps. The creator of Rock Band has vowed not to saturate the market with games when the franchise returns this year. Harmonix and Activision released over 30 different guitar-based games between 2005 and 2010, causing the market to become oversaturated and collapse. Rock Band 4 is now set to return this October, and widespread reports claim that Guitar Hero is also braced for a return. But Harmonix product manager Eric Pope has promised not to repeat the mistakes of the past. Its no secret that the band game space became really crowded, he told MCV. It was a lot to keep up with, so some fans rather understandably needed a break.

So look - there are issues here. This Mario Party is a complex, perhaps bloated entry in a very long running and bizarre series. But its also ridiculously good fun at its best.
