Deadly Premonitions great characters and crazy story line make it a great game worth playing, the problem is that it isnt very fun to play. If youre willing to look past the lame combat and bad controls you will see a game brimming with charm and wackiness that makes the whole thing worth while.

The graphics are also inconsistent, looking terrible one second - with its trees often looking like two 2D models glued together - and passable the next, but often saved by the brilliant cinematography. On top of the rough textures, everything has a kind of specular sheen to it, generating some of the shiniest leather jackets ever seen on console. The frame rate is terrible, with walking in open areas looking like its been pre-filmed in stop motion. Everything clips through everything else, with phones clipping through Yorks ear, and at one point his tie even impaled him, sticking out of his back, erect.

Ken McKown writes: Few games will garner as much controversy from this generation as Deadly Premonition. Mention it amongst a group of gamer friends and you are likely to hear about how awful it is, as well as it being heralded as one of the most incredible experiences ever created. This polarization means one thing; Hidetaka SWERY Suehiro (the games eccentric developer) and his team have done something right. Whether you love or hate the game is irrelevant, what is important is that now US gamers who dont own an Xbox 360 have a chance to check out this unique and outlandish experience.
