Battle Princess of Arcadias Review: Anime Madness | Twinfinite

Added: 23.06.2014 15:13 | 1 views | 0 comments

Twinfinite writes: "Theres a weird spot in my heart for much of what NIS America, the US publishing arm of Japans Nippon Ichi Software, brings to the table. On one hand, they usually create a pretty compelling game with a lot going on; on the other, theres this intense and often overpowering core of Japanese cultural essence that I can only handle in small doses. Battle Princess of Arcadias is no exception, and I found myself having to take occasional breaks from the game to simply allow my mind some time to decompress from the style and presentation despite almost unilaterally enjoying my time playing."

Rewriting Twilight Princess: Inciting Incident

Added: 22.06.2014 16:13 | 23 views | 0 comments

ZI writes: The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess was a fantastic game, filled with epic battles, an enormous world, and a...horribly flawed storyline. Each week we'll be looking at one of these flaws to determine what went wrong and why, as well as to discuss ideas of how the tale could have been rewritten to fix these problems and strengthen the story as a whole. ...Preferably without drastically departing from the original storyline of the game, but I make no promises. Some of the biggest and most blatant issues with Twilight Princess revolve around how it handles or rather, mishandles some of its most important characters: the children of Ordon Village. We'll be covering these problems over the next three (that's right, three!) weeks, but to start with, we're only looking at a single scene: one which holds the utmost importance in the game...and which, in retrospect, completely fails at its task. Without further ado, let's discuss the children's kidnapping.

Battle Princess of Arcadias - PS3 Review | Chalgyr's Game Room

Added: 21.06.2014 18:14 | 49 views | 0 comments

Chalgyr's Game Room writes: There has been something of a resurgence in the beat 'em up genre over the last year or so. Whether it was seeing an older property given a new gloss of paint such as Dungeons Dragons: Chronicles of Mystara or the fairly well-received Sorcerer's Crown. That these two titles had a fantasy theme might also play a factor in the attempt to bring Battle Princess of Arcadias to North America on PlayStation 3. The first thing to note is that the visuals are striking in their use of color and movement. At a glance, it really reminds me of Child of Light, perhaps because of the red haired female protagonist at the center of the action. While the visuals have a vivid fantasy feel to them, they are not quite as crisp as Ubisoft's platforming RPG, nor do the games play anything alike. Battle Princess of Arcadias is a side scrolling beat 'em up through and through, though it does have some nice RPG style hooks built into the gameplay as well.
