Pure Pool (PS4) Review | Laser Lemming

LL Writes "Pure Pool is one of the most realistic looking games of digital spots and stripes, sorry 8-ball, Ive ever played. It looks superb, nigh on photo realistic. From the reflection of the surroundings on the balls and the veneer of the wood on the table, down to the texture of the felt that looks like you could get carpet burn from it. If you need a game to show off the graphical capabilities of your snazzy new PS4 to non-gamers, this is it. Would you look at those balls, you say. Look how shiny they are. Look at how subtle the lighting is, how fuzzy the felt looks on the table, how the superb physics engine makes the cue ball glide around the table just as it would in the real world. Just look at those balls! Thats the power of the PS4 right there, perfect billiard balls. Look at em!!!! Then theyll probably leave because youve started ranting about how realistic pool balls look in a video game, youre obviously having one of your episodes again and theres no t...

Pure Pool Review | GodisaGeek

Dan Naylor: "Pure Pools greatest trick is its immediacy. Once the table is in front of you, you can just play over and over and over with no wait. With a variety of game modes to try out and the online suite theres plenty to keep you entertained, but while it may be a near-perfect simulation of pool, it doesnt come close to playing the real thing. People buy Gran Turismo because theyre never going to be a racing driver or own a Ferrari. You can go down the local and pay 50p for a game of pool with your mates. Just saying."

WWE 2K15's campaign focuses on recent rivalries: Cena vs. Punk and Triple H vs Shawn Michaels

WWE 2K15 will dip into wrestling's more recent history for its single-player mode, with rivalries between Shawn Michaels and Triple H from 2002-2004 and John Cena and CM Punk from 2011-2013 confirmed for the game's 2K Showcase mode.

2K Showcase will feature 33 matches from the two feuds, and like last year's well-received Road to Wrestlemania mode, will incorporate classic WWE footage, new WWE superstar commentary, and cinematic cut scenes in an attempt to create a "documentary" feel. Playing through the mode in WWE 2K15 will unlock new superstars, ring attire, and more.

WWE 2K15 executive producer Mark Little has confirmed that more rivalries will be released post game launch as DLC, but did not specify what feuds were being considered.

In an interview to promote the game, WWE superstar Shawn Michaels said the inclusion of his famous feud with The Game was "nothing short of pretty cool."

"It was such a feel good moment (his return to the WWE in 2002), and then Triple H turned on me like the rabid dog that he is. The thing that I always enjoyed about that rivalry was that it went for two years. That is hard to come by anymore. There as so much that happened in that two years," Michaels said.

"One of the things I always enjoy about the video games are the fantasy matches, the ones you never got to see but now can come to life. And the one I'm very excited about is Sting. I never got a chance to wrestle him, but that can happen in the game."

Sting was recently announced as one of the playable superstars in WWE 2K15. , before launching in international markets on October 31.
