The Rift Arcade - Air Accident Experience for Oculus Rift is badly timed, but incredibly detailed

Added: 30.03.2015 15:18 | 3 views | 0 comments

This game couldnt have come at a worse time. Released on Oculus Share just days after the Germanwings Flight 9525 crash in Southern France, it tasks players with surviving a plane crash over water, with multiple options to take and a plethora of details that bring the experience to life. Before we get to that, lets quickly get the issue of bad timing out of the way; because although Air Accident Experience was released only days after the A320 crash, it would have been submitted to Oculus Share weeks before the tragedy. Its release date wasn't intentional, nor intended to offend. Nevertheless, Oculus could have chosen to hold back its release by a few weeks.

Deadly Premonition Remains the Weirdest Video Game of the Modern Era

Added: 30.03.2015 6:21 | 14 views | 0 comments

Vice: Released in February 2010, during the peak of the Xbox 360 era, Deadly Premonition offered the world a unique window into gaming's delightfully ramshackle and sometimes ugly past at a time when big-box video games could be incredibly conservative. The obtuse masterpiece was the product of six years of tireless work by a young Japanese auteur named Hidetaka Suehiro, who is commonly referred to as SWERY or Swery65. Production began at Access Games back in 2004 under the title Rainy Woodsan ambitious "cynical urban drama" with a strong focus on forensic science and murder mystery. The game was officially unveiled at Tokyo Game Show in 2007 earning immediate comparisons to David Lynch's classic TV drama Twin Peaks. But production was ceased shortly thereafter due to "technological difficulties." A more educated guess would be that Access risked facing a lawsuit for creative, or copyright theft, despite the end product remaining heavily in debt to Lynch's vision.

Ultima IV- Quest of the Avatar Remastered and Released for Commodore 64

Added: 29.03.2015 22:18 | 2 views | 0 comments

Carl Williams writes, "How many role playing games have you played that required you to overcome some massively evil entity that is bent on destroying the world? Too many, right? Well, back in the early days of computer gaming there was a game called Ultima IV: Quest of the Avatar. It was, obviously, the fourth title in the Ultima series but it was, probably, the first role playing game to not require you to overcome some great evil entity. No, in Ultima IV you are tasked with overcoming your own being, overcoming your own shortcomings and ascending to Avatar. The Avatar is THE example of good that others in the world would model their lives after- a guiding example of what is right."
