ZTGD | Remember Me Review

Ken McKown writes: Introducing a new IP this late in the console lifecycle is bold. Capcom and Dontnod are doing just that with their cerebral sci-fi action title Remember Me. Attempting to mesh a futuristic setting with a mixture of hand-to-hand combat and platforming, this adventure delivers some truly inspiring moments. While the game play is par for the course, everything else surrounding it felt much spired. The level designs and overall aesthetic really drew me into the world, at least for the duration of the main campaign.

Remember Me: Beautiful or Pretentious? These Six Critics Can't Decide

Kotaku: ''Whether they consider it the artistic achievement of the decade or just a boring, linear sci-fi brawler, one thing reviewers agree on is that Remember Me is rough around the edges. The question is how rough. While most considered the world of Dontnod's futuristic action-adventure a joy to behold, the quality of the (English) voice acting and the occasional strangeness of the plot were both commonly mentioned negativesalong with the game's disappointing linearity. Let's have a look at what the reviews say.''

Remember Me Out Tomorrow, Soundtrack Can Be Yours Now

Added: 04.06.2013 11:18 | 2 views | 0 comments

As you might have noticed, reviews for Remember Me from Capcom and Dontnod have been dropping all day today. While critical response has been varied, one element seems to be meeting more consistent approval: the soundtrack. The music, composed by Olivier Deriviere (also responsible for the cello-centric Of Orcs And Men soundtrack) is a clever blend of orchestral works with electronic overlays. The intent, as Deriviere told us is to have the music support the themes of the game, including memory manipulation and loss of self, and to serve as "another layer of information." You can get the entire soundtrack now from iTunes for $9.99. Remember Me arrives tomorrow, but our review is available for you at this very moment.

Remember Me Review | Digital Chumps

Digital Chumps: "No matter how outlandish, any premise can be kept in check by reliable world building and careful direction. Remember Me appropriately and effectively creates a functioning futuristic society that treats memories like we treat oil. This is admittedly preposterous and shouldn't work, but Dontnods art direction sells their fiction with confidence and creates an engrossing world begging for (and happy to provide) rampant absorption. Remember Me exhibits objective problems, especially when it comes to obeying genre tropes, I just didn't care to notice them until I was finished."

OXM: "While we have issues with some of Remember Mes major features, the overall adventure is well worth experiencing. Even if some fights and branching paths lead you toward frustration, theyre merely parts of a journey that showcase a wildly unique story and the visuals to match."

Chie Satonaka: One Weeping Mans Affectionate Reminiscence on his Senseis Unbeatable Hurricane Kick

Added: 04.06.2013 8:18 | 3 views | 0 comments

Sumthing.com writes: Something happens though with Chie about thirty hours into the game, where I was actually driven to tears. Remember Persona 4 is a dungeon crawling, turn-based role-playing game, each member of your team takes a shot at trying to KO the games assorted enemies: miniature slimes, Golgotha demons and twelve headed Harpsichord minions. Youre not always going to win, and frequently you will be knocked down. This particular turn, my light magic failed (or whatever), and in turn the possessed water bearer (or whatever) flattened me to the concrete. I am dizzy, and if I am hit again the game is over and with it about an hours worth of progress. Then out of nowhere Chie comes over to my character to help me up, asks me if I am okay, and extends her hand. This is important, as Chie has just become human. This moment, its so gentle, I can feel the weakness of my character, his feeble trembling fingers being enveloped and steadied upright by the strength of this...
