Resident Evil: Revelations 2 (2015) Review | FilmGamesEtc

FilmGamesEtc - "After Resident Evil 6s polarizing critical reception, it was clear that Capcoms inability to implement the series trademark sense of foreboding terror, and nail-biting tension into a more modernized formula was drastically hurting the future of the franchise. Thankfully, the surprisingly well-received debut of Resident Evil: Revelations changed all that. By successfully combining contemporary gameplay mechanics with white-knuckle action and old-school survival horror elements, Resident Evil: Revelations finally presented fans with a thoroughly engaging experience they could really sink their teeth into. Resident Evil: Revelations 2 continues that same clear-cut vision nearly two years later, fully embracing the subtitled series episodic narrative structure, and infusing it with more visceral gameplay and punishing enemy encounters for a satisfying take on modern survival horror."

More to the point, with story-heavy content like this, it can be difficult to remember just what the hell is going on. The major events stuck in my head easily enough, but some of the interactions with smaller characters were much harder to recall. That said, checking Max's diary and her character bios was a big help, and for the most part, I felt like I was up to speed enough without needing to replay the first episode. Naturally, if you're holding off until every episode is out, you're not going to have a prob...

DSOGaming writes: "Well, you gotta admit that Capcom is making some really idiotic decisions. After the complete nonsense with the removal of local co-op from Resident Evil Revelations 2, Capcom decided to yet again give the middle finger to PC gamers by completely removing the local co-op code that was present in Resident Evil 5."
