Added: 13.05.2013 9:27 | 23 views | 0 comments

The Walking Dead retail release is new at No.9.

BioShock Infinite is the only other game to hold three consecutive weeks at the top in 2013.

Activision's Black Ops 2 climbs four places to No.2 thanks to a 60 per cent increase in sales brought about by retailer promotions. Tomb Raider is at No.3, Injustice falls from No.2 to No.4 and FIFA 13 drops a single place to No.5.

The week's highest new entry is Telltale's The Walking Dead at No.9, with PQube's Persona 4 Arena also new at No.11.

Star Trek The Video Game is the week's major loser, falling 14 places from No.10 to No.24.

Dead Island: Riptide Review | Analog Addiction

Added: 12.05.2013 15:19 | 4 views | 0 comments

Analog Addiction writes: "Dead Island: Riptide doesnt feel like a fully fledged sequel to the original 2011 release; it feels more like an expansion on what the first game offered. With that being said, if you didnt enjoy the original for whatever reason, chances are Riptide wont sweeten you on the franchise. The original Dead Island had its problems, but above all, it offered a fun RPG experience, emphasising brutal melee combat and weapon customization. All of that is present Riptide, but the problem is that most of those original flaws are also here, alongside the fun that was originally provided. Techland has offered some new additions to the formula throughout, though nothing feels significant enough to separate Riptide from the original. What we have left, is something that feels very much the same as the franchises first outing. Techland missed their chance to really improve an enjoyable formula, instead choosing to ship Dead Island 1.5."

DHGF: Dead Island Riptide can effectively be described as more of the same as its essentially its predecessor with a new island, a new character, and some play tweaks for ten dollars less, leaving it essentially the same game, which should tell you everything you need to know about if its for you. The plot is functional if cliché and uninspired, the game looks mostly identical to the prior game save for some environmental changes and improved water effects at the cost of lag when the water is disrupted, and the audio is as spot on as it was in the prior game. The gameplay returns intact from the previous release in all respects, meaning that fans will have no issues jumping into the game and newcomers will be able to pick it up with little effort. There are new elements, such as leveling up weapon performance based on usage, instanced Dead Zones, siege defense missions, a new character and some new weapons and enemies to use, and the levels are condensed while retaining the leng...
