Rise of Venice Review - Pixel Related

Whether or not youve played Kalypsos similar offerings in Port Royale 3 or Patrician IV, Rise of Venice offers a unique and interesting period piece that places you in the role of a budding Venetian trader. Though the game is an open world version of the Mediterranean Sea, theres a compelling little storyline that draws you slowly through the games features. Starting out simply with one ship and a dream, heading down shore youre limited to trading in a small fraction of the worlds available goods, until you get some experience under your belt (and get approval from Venices Senate).

(WGB) Rise of Venice - Review

Added: 13.10.2013 23:17 | 12 views | 0 comments

Baden of WGB writes: "From the gameplay mechanics to the user interface and graphics one thing is very clear: Rise of Venice began life as a carbon copy of another Kalypso published title, Port Royale 3. Still, though I still have serious doubts as to whether it needed to be released under a completely different name, Rise of Venice makes some solid changes to the formula and even brings in some elements from yet another Kalypso title, Patrician, to create an amalgamation of sorts that works out pretty well."

Rise of Venice Review {Critically Sane}

Added: 03.10.2013 16:20 | 10 views | 0 comments

"Kalypso has finally taken their series of trading simulations to Renaissance Italy in Rise of Venice. A sequel of sorts to last years Port Royale 3, the game includes a wealth of improvements that provide a more engrossing experience, though the game is ultimately held back from true greatness by its interface and weak combat."

Port Royale 3 Gold Edition Review - GamesReviews

From GamesReviews: "There arent enough sim games on the PlayStation 3, especially when it comes to sim games with RPG elements. Its a niche within a niche if there were demand for this sort of thing on consoles, no doubt someone would be chugging them out yearly, and yet when they do come out, as with Port Royale 3 Gold Edition, it never feels like youre getting the most bang for your buck."

Rise of Venice Review (Strategy Informer)

Added: 01.10.2013 11:18 | 17 views | 0 comments

From Strategyinformer.com: "Rise of Venice starts a new spin-off series in the Gaming Minds saga of trading sim games. Following on from past releases Port Royale 3 and Patrician IV, Venice makes a number of key changes, which coupled with the new setting, hopes to take the franchise forward into a new era of prosperity. Venice was renowned for being an economic powerhouse of the Mediterranean back in the day, so focusing a game around it seems fitting. Like always, you play as the young up-and-coming head of a minor(ish) household, and its your job to bring great wealth and fame to your family. Rise of Venices campaign deals with a lot of the politics and intrigue of the time, and this theme is quite well supported by the mechanics.".

oprainfall writes: "When PlayStation All-Stars Battle Royale was released, many fans were speculating what characters would be present in the game. When people thought about potential characters to be added to the roster, names like Crash Bandicoot, Parappa, or Dart often came up. However, there is one character whom many seem to have forgotten and is almost never mentioned in these discussions. This is a character who was on Sonys side from the very beginning, before any of the aforementioned characters. Folks, I present to you, Robbit."

Mariners Chairman: Yamauchi Saved Baseball in Seattle

Added: 27.09.2013 3:18 | 12 views | 0 comments

Afore the start of the series game with the Kansas City Royals on Monday night, the Seattle Mariners held a moment of silence for former owner Hiroshi Yamauchi, Nintendos former President as well as the man who bought a majority stake in the team back in 1992, averting the previously inevitable move to Florida. But first, a statement was made about the Yamauchi made on baseball in both Seattle and the US as a whole, as he was also credited for influencing the arrival Japanese players to the states.
