It was only a couple of months ago that Activision announced that they have another Ninja Turtles game on the way. The major difference between the two other than this being a download and the second game being destined for retail is that the retail iteration remains truer to the cartoon series, whereas this effort from Red Fly displays some artistic flair with the character designs.

If were being honest, there are more mediocre TMNT video games than there were puns about shell shock in the first draft of this review. Considering the sheer quantity of of low-rent Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles games out there, its a wonder that this beat-em-up franchise has had such remarkable longevity.

Suda 51 and Grasshopper Manufacture have been creating unique titles the past couple of years, each and every one of them have been equally fun and flawed. From Shadows of the Damned, Lollipop Chainsaw, and now Killer is Dead which promises to bring all the good from all Sudas previous games and has to chance to be his defining title in maturing as a designer. The end result is a game of two halves: One have shows the maturing of Suda in level design and the other half is a disgusting and perverted design choice that almost destroys the entire game immediately
