Quick Look: Warhammer 40,000: Regicide | Power Up Gaming

Added: 05.02.2015 1:10 | 33 views | 0 comments

Adam Shepherd writes: "Warhammer 40K: Regicide is an upcoming strategy title from Hammerfall Publishing. Set in the conflict-ravaged 41st millenium, Regicide is essentially the game of chess, but with 40K units taking the place of traditional pieces. That's not all that's changed, however."

Saints Row: Gat Out of Hell Review "Short But Sinfully Sweet" | Power Up Gaming

Added: 21.01.2015 2:10 | 29 views | 0 comments

Adam Shepherd writes: "I've never really 'got' Johnny Gat. Maybe it's because I came into the Saints Row series at number three, but it never really sold me on how heart-stoppingly awesome he was supposed to be. This is a slight shame, as that's the plot of Saints Row IV's standalone expansion, Gat Out of Hell, more than anything else. Yeah, alright, it's technically about the boss of the Saints getting dragged to Hell, but really, it mainly consists of 'Johnny Gat, Unstoppable God-King of the Universe'."

2014 PUG Game of the Year Awards: Day 11

Added: 06.01.2015 0:10 | 31 views | 0 comments

Adam Shepherd writes: "Frontier Developments funded Elite: Dangerous almost exclusively through Kickstarter, released an easily accessible beta as early as possible complete with dev diaries and insanely regular updates, and generally tried their damndest to include consumers as much as possible. Compared to the failures perpetrated by the likes of Ubisoft and EA, they couldn't have done more to achieve consumer satisfaction, short of David Braben hand-delivering every copy with a complimentary blowjob. And the best thing is, on top of all that, it's a bloody fantastic game."

Mortal Kombat X Hands-On Preview Delivers a Fatality on Boredom | Power Up Gaming

Added: 31.10.2014 15:11 | 30 views | 0 comments

Adam Shepherd writes: "The Internet kind of exploded earlier this year when trailers emerged for Mortal Kombat X, the latest entry in the seminal fighting game franchise. The first game of the series to be released on next-generation platforms, it looked absolutely gorgeous, and fans have been itching to play it ever since. After a hands-on at London's MCM Expo, we can safely confirm that it is every bit as fun as we'd all hoped."

Assassin's Creed Unity Hands-On Preview Assassin's Crud? | Power Up Gaming

Added: 31.10.2014 15:11 | 36 views | 0 comments

Adam Shepherd writes: "We recently got hands-on with the game at its first UK outing at London's MCM Expo, and one thing that was immediately apparent when we started playing was how surprisingly rough the game looked. ... In its current state, Assassin's Creed: Unity is a buggy, frustrating, barely playable mess of a game, and unless some very serious tweaking and polishing happens between now and the game's North American release date of November 11, this title is going to be about as well received as a shit in a birthday cake."

Pixel Rift Hands-On Preview | Power Up Gaming

Added: 08.10.2014 16:12 | 39 views | 0 comments

Adam Shepherd writes: "Pixel Rift is pretty damn amazing, for a number of reasons. Firstly, its creator, Ana Ribeiro, is a recent graduate of the National Film and Television School's game design MA course. She created the game virtually single-handed, drafting in friends and fellow students from the course to cover the areas that she couldn't complete herself. Even more impressively, she took on a project for the newest and arguably most challenging platform available, opting to build her game from the ground up as an Oculus experience."
