Kairo Review | ComboCaster

Added: 15.05.2013 15:17 | 8 views | 0 comments

Something common in this type of games is the lack of an objective, a line conductor to tell us whether we are on track or not. But it is also showing that these are not really games, but examples of interactive media that give us the possibility to freely explore an environment and the transformations that our actions cause in the world. The world of Kairo is made from several interconnected locations and strange architecture. The story is never explained, is a world about which we know nothing much at the beginning and at the end, which further enhances the mystery that surrounds it. The only goal is just exploring and solving some puzzles. Each room has a puzzle that is usually necessary to solve to continue the game and usually involve manipulating an object in the world of Kairo. It can be something as simple as dragging a block to something more complex such as recognizing patterns, but in general are not very challenging.

Arcane Saga Beta - There's Something Amiss Here

Added: 12.05.2013 14:17 | 18 views | 0 comments

Arcane Saga promised to be the relaunch of now-defunct Prius Online, but its beta proves to be quite the opposite. Several of the game's systems have either been removed entirely or changed, and the uneven leveling pace mixed with an empty world makes very little sense in today's competitive MMO market. It's hard to comprehend what developer Netmarble was thinking with this remake.

Sony Teasing Something Called Panopticon; Possible New Game

Added: 09.05.2013 14:41 | 5 views | 0 comments

We hate countdowns as much as the next guy, but what about countups? Sony has updated their official Japanese PlayStation website with a counter teaser streaming video where the counter is actually counting upward to one million years. When it hits one million years, which just so happens to fall on next week, one would presume that a new game will be announced... or at worst, it'll reveal more countdown teasers or teaser trailers.

EAs Unprecedented Partnership with Nintendo and Other Fairy Tales

Added: 09.05.2013 12:17 | 10 views | 0 comments

Jonathan Suedmeyer - Ricard Juliantis third opinion piece looks at the fable that is EA, and how the company is full of lies, deceit, and BS. EA recently came out and said, We will not be releasing a Wii U version of Madden NFL in 2013. However, we have a strong partnership with Nintendo and will continue to evaluate opportunities for developing additional Madden NFL products for Nintendo fans in the future. Madden is one of the biggest sports IPs in the industry today, along with NCAA Football and FIFA, yet EA isnt developing a version for the Wii U. We have no official word on NCAA and FIFA yet, but all signs are pointing to those not arriving on Nintendos console either. If you have several multi-million dollar franchises, isnt releasing them on everything available the smart thing to do? Especially if you have a strong partnership with one of the oldest gaming companies still in existence? Something here strikes me as..odd.
