You will hear veterans like myself cite Colony Wars religiously whenever the genre is mentioned, and for good reason; there havent been many titles as impressive since it came out nearly 20 years ago. "Strike Suit Zero was released last year on the PC and it was met with a mixed reception. Hoping to make the game better, the game now has a Directors Cut edition that has debuted for the Xbox One and PS4. This version includes the extra Heroes of the Fleet DLC plus promises to be a better experience overall. Space shooters like 'Strike Suit Zero' fit a specific niche genre. They can be tedious and simulation-like, or a straight up arcade action experience. 'Strike Suit Zero: Director's Cut' fits nicely somewhere in the middle. The developers at Born Ready Games put a significant amount of effort into the port. The visuals are simply stunning, but the repetitive nature of the gameplay as a whole has a tendency to dilute the overall experience. In its current, revised form, the game is diverting to play and better to look upon, but stops short of full engagement.
