Dying Light review | Saving Content

Saving Content: "Dying Light is the Dead Island game Techland always wanted to make. As a result, it is a gritty, more serious take than the previous games theyve developed. Because of this, it is better than what has come before, but not without its faults, foibles, and reptitive mission structure and fetch quests. Dying Light is a fun excursion into the open-world with crafted melee weapons of destruction that I only wish we had gotten sooner."

Dying Light review | Sixth Axis

Added: 06.02.2015 14:10 | 7 views | 0 comments

Sixth Axis:"Dying Light isnt developer Techlands first punt at the survival horror genre. In 2011 the Polish studio released Dead Island, a game which many will no doubt remember for its tear-jerking trailer and fumbled execution. A couple of years later, Techland revisited the infested shores of Banoi with the launch of Riptide, a sequel that felt more akin to a weighty expansion as opposed to a true successor. Although the game went on to enjoy generally favourable reviews, fans were left wondering what could have been, at least up until now."

Dying Light Review - TXH

Neil writes "When I first heard Techland were coming back into the zombie genre with Dying Light a little piece of me sank. Not only am I not a great fan of melee smashers, or indeed the undead, but over the last few years Ive taken in and hated Dead Island, its Riptide add-on and all the buggy issues that they both contained. But the more I read about Techlands plans for Dying Light, the more I saw developer playthroughs and the more I watched some stunningly good parkour videos, the more my mind started to turn. Started to believe that what was planned could indeed become a great reality."

Dying Light Review (GameWatcher)

From GameWatcher.com: "Dead Island was a great idea in search of a great game. An open world first-person zombie apocalypse co-op melee/shooter where the zombies are tough and its just as fun to play single-player as online? Sign me up! Trouble is it ended up really repetitive, not much fun in single-player, and buggy as hell. In short, it did not deserve that Game of the Year Edition. This year we have two attempts to rectify that mistake. Dead Island 2 comes out later in the year and has a new developer in the form of Yager, whereas Dead Islands developer Techland (who also made the mostly-excellent Call of Juarez series dont forget) have started a new franchise with Dying Light. Lets hope we get that great game at last.".

Dying Light - Dual Review | Dual Pixels

Added: 03.02.2015 22:10 | 11 views | 0 comments

Dual Pixels: "In every form of media, the dead are indeed taking over, with varying degrees of success. Techland has set out to make a better open world zombie game than their original offering, Dead Island. The games, while looking quite similar at first glance, play quite a bit differently to one another. And thats a good thing in all facets. Dying Light takes the appeal of the dead, their demeanor, their fatally dangerous actions and their overall creepiness, and complements it with a bit of fun. Techland has added their own flair to the genre, and in all all cases, it makes for a pretty fantastic experience."
