ZTGD | Mega Man Legacy Collection Review
Added: 25.08.2015 14:18 | 12 views | 0 comments
Ken McKown writes: Mega Man is one of my oldest, and most treasured gaming memories. I still remember the circumstances of being introduced to the original game on the NES. The Blue Bomber has also seen more than his fair share of collections and remakes over the years. There is not a system gamers couldnt experience (at least) the original six 8-bit classics in some form or fashion, all that is except for the PS4 and Xbox One. Well now that is remedied. Mega Man Legacy Collection is yet another excuse to experience these fine games, with some bonus fan service thrown in for good measure.

Old Faithful may be the name of a beautiful cone geyser in Yellowstone National Park, but perhaps its time for that old geyser to bestow its name onto Madden. There has been thirty-odd Madden games since its inception in 1988 (facing the realization that most of Maddens core fanbase wasnt even born when the series first debuted is a depressing realization) and none have been bad (besides perhaps the handheld iterations, stop writing your angry comments). EA has done a fantastic job doing exactly what a yearly series like this needs: keeping the stats, visuals and gameplay current. Generally not a lot changes release from release, but enough that each new Madden is worth delving into for the virtual football faithful. This years outing, Madden NFL 16, further refines the experience and introduces a rousing new mode.

| Until Dawn Review | NZGamer

NZG:
Supermassive games has never tackled a horror game like Until Dawn before, and it shows. I mean that in a good way. From towel-clad teenagers to predictable jump scares, Until Dawn takes every single horror movie cliché you could think of and either turns it on its head or fully embraces it. There is no way for them to fall back on lazy tropes to get cheap scares that the player quickly becomes numb to. Instead, Supermassive Games has broken into the horror genre by focusing on keeping a tense atmosphere so that the player never has a chance to relax, and by playing to their strengths and utilising the motion controls of the PS4 controller.

Hardcore Gamer: In the new screenshots provided, we get a look at what's in store from the role-playing game. There are extraordinarily strange happenings going on with giant beings overlooking quaint towns. But it's not all robots and hipsters, there's a sense of realism to the game.

Enemy Slime: "Hidden On The Trail Of The Ancients is the kind of game that you dont really see anymore, and if youre a fan of the genre then this is kind of a case of victory by default. There are a few missteps in this first entry, but with the right feedback and a little extra hard work I think Lost Spell could really knock the second part of this story out of the park."

Sean Halliday of Pixel Gate looks at the conflict between giving Konami your money, or ignoring a artists vision
''Konami have done the seemingly impossible, theyve became more disliked than EA games. While hatred towards EA is often misguided and clumsy, Konami have seemingly went on a campaign to elevate themselves to the throne of hatred. As company, Konami have long been a slobbering mess, stumbling around popping out games ranging from fair to utterly broken. Their treatment of its core franchises has not exactly things either. Throwing out broken HD remasterings of both Silent Hill and Zone of Enders, and simply refusing to fix either release left a bitter taste in the mouth of many.''
