The Limited Edition Battle With eBay Scalpers Can be Tackled More Efficiently by Nintendo

Added: 01.03.2015 13:09 | 19 views | 0 comments

by Thomas Whitehead: Today brought a familiar turn of events in the realm of amiibo and anything that's 'limited edition' of late from Nintendo. The best-known toy secret was announced with confirmation of Walmart exclusivity for the Super Mario amiibo - Gold Edition, and then they were gone before they'd really arrived. Pre-orders popped up on Walmart's website and disappeared in no time; you know what, dozens of these pre-orders have since appeared on eBay. As Nintendo Life regular 'Ryno' rather wittily put it - "now they are exclusive to eBay". Of course that's an old story, so rather than bemoan the fact that, yet again, a limited edition product has sold out in barely a quarter of an hour online, let's consider real solutions that could alleviate the problem.

A Celebration of HAL Laboratory - Forever Focused on Fun

Added: 01.03.2015 10:09 | 5 views | 0 comments

by Thomas Whitehead: Over the past weekend, on 21st February, HAL Laboratory turned 35 years old. Its rather cute / peculiar logo should be familiar to plenty of Nintendo fans, though due to Nintendo branding being predominant it's easy to overlook just how important the developer has been in not only establishing some of Nintendo's most iconic brands, but also in developing key figures that are vital to the company's success. Still its own independent business, it's also stayed away from many of the pressures of the modern gaming industry - it simply produces charming, lovely games.

Review: The Order: 1886 (DarkZero)

Added: 23.02.2015 9:10 | 5 views | 0 comments

Thomas McDermott: "The Order: 1866 is a full price retail game that last 6 hours at best, and it offers zero replay value - that certainly is a problem. The reason I am starting this review with such a statement is that its but one single complaint of many to level against the game. To tell you the truth, I just wanted to get it out of the way, as "value for money" is not something that everyone cares about. You could be a billionaire for all I know (well done if you are - please fund us!), but more likely, you may want to pick up the game months after its initial release for a cut price. In both cases the RRP would not concern you, and as such does not bare talking about."
