TGH Writes: "Its rare to come across a game that has me grinning from ear to ear from beginning to end, but this is exactly what Thomas Was Alone caused me to do. Let me be the first to say that I never thought a game like Thomas Was Alone would evoke such feelings. On the surface its little more than a game where you simply control a bunch of rectangles through clever little levels. But deeper down its a game all about imaginative and downright excellent platforming. Its a game so simple in its core mechanic, yet so absolutely delightful to play that youll remember it for a long time to come."

Dealspwn: The nominees for the annual Develop Awards are in. The awards celebrate the finest of European video game developers with awards including categories like New IP, Visual Arts, Online Innovation, Publishing Hero, Engine, New Studio and many more. MCV report that 36 different games and 49 studios are represented across the 19 main awards. Dennation Games (Hotline Miami), Sony London (Wonderbook), Arkane Studios (Dishonored) and PlayGround Games (Forza Horizon) all tied for second place with four nominations each, but the leader with five is Fireproof Games, the UK iOS studio behind The Room. Where European studios have contributed significant development to titles outside of the EU, there are the Creative Contribution awards that cover the likes of Ni No Kuni, Halo 4 and Thomas Was Alone. The winners will be announced at a ceremony in Brighton on July 10th. We have the full list of nominees after the break.

Stick Skills: "Thomas Was Alone does more with an extremely minimal toolset than many big-budget games could hope to do. Brief, effective narration combines with beautifully simple gameplay and visuals to create a great game. Its just a shame that so many mechanics are left behind without being given enough time to shine."
