Gamer in Asia: Why I want to throw my PS4 into the South China Sea

Added: 31.05.2014 21:14 | 8 views | 0 comments

Games in Asia: "Last month I crumbled to my baser instincts and bought a Playstation 4 (PS4). I knew it was a dumb decision, that it was too expensive, that there was lack of software, and that I could pick one up much more cheaply when I went to America. But who can come between a nerd and his deepest, darkest desires? Logic never stood a chance. I bought the PS4 with a copy of Infamous: Second Son, which was awesome. Unfortunately I completed the game on the hardest difficulty, achieving 100 percent completion and both endings over a single weekend. After that my PS4 became a paperweight, squatting next to my TV and glowering at me every time I turned on my Playstation 3. But things began to change recently. The indie scene has begun to pick up, and some cool stuff was finally getting released on the PS4. Great, I thought, as I queued up Octodad, Child of Light, and Transistor for download. This is going to be fun. It wasnt."

Transistor Joint Review: A Beautiful Doomsday- Gamers Sphere

Added: 30.05.2014 15:14 | 7 views | 0 comments

It isnt every day that one game piques the interest of multiple Gamers Sphere editors. Its even less common for that same game to elicit such similar, positive reactions; so positive, in fact, that the editors all finished the game within a couple days because they were so engrossed. This is exactly what has happened with the remarkable Transistor by Supergiant Games. As you will see in this joint review, all three editors in the Gamers Sphere who played Transistor all fell in love with its beauty in combat, story, and atmosphere. Read why this was an incredible journey for all involved, and even take in some gorgeous screenshots as well.

Following the smash, indie hit Bastion, Supergiant Games is back with the latest installment to their catalogue in Transistor. You play as a songstress named Red, who has had her voice stolen in an assassination attempt by the mysterious Camerata. It was at that time that she became the owner of a glowing, blue sword called the Transistor, whose properties are as of yet unknown. She journeys across the city of Cloudbank, coming across strange, mechanical foes that are referred to only as the Process, who seek to destroy everything Red has ever known.

Transistor Review [Game Rant]

Andrew Dyce of Game Rant writes: "When Supergiant's Transistor was first revealed, it was no surprise to see the studios emphasis on stunning art and soundscapes remained intact. But make no mistake: from a gameplay and story standpoint, Transistor is a truly unique experience from its first moments, to its abstract final act."

"Transistor couldve been a legendary game, but as it is now I cant help but feel a few wrong turns during development have somewhat hampered a game which could have been an instant classic. It's still fun to play and nice to look at, but dont expect a revelation in gaming."
