Transistor was a title that garnered a lot of interest back during Sony's E3 last year, but as such it carries with it some pretty substantial expectations. For the most part, Transistor does succeed in meeting most, if not all of them. Transistor is set in a futuristic city with elements of science fiction and fantasy mixed together. You take on the role of a young woman named Red, who has taken control of a powerful sentient weapon that a mysterious group of the city's elite wants for their own devices.

California-based studio Supergiant Games may not be the most well known of developers, but their work has already made a profound mark to gamers everywhere. With the multiple award-winning Bastion under their belt, Supergiant games is looking to repeat the successful process with Transistor. The game itself is pretty spiffy, but there is one thing that stands out, regardless of whether or not youve played the game: the soundtrack. I took some time to catch up with the games composer Darren Korb to get an in-depth idea of his creative process in his first post-release interview.

Wired: What a mess. Theres a dead guy slouched on an beautiful neoclassical rooftop, bathed in electric blue light. Theres a girl pulling a sword out of his body, and when I say sword, I mean a wide-gauge, Cloud Strife-looking overgrown chefs knife. The rooftops ornamented like a circuit board. Theres a torn gown discarded nearby and decorative chevrons on the ground, the walls, pretty much everything. And then theres this voice. This weird, raspy, disembodied voice. Oh wait, its the sword. The swords talking to me.
