If there's one thing better than blazing through one of Trials Fusion's trickiest courses, it's knowing you did it faster -- and with fewer crashes -- than your friends. Online leaderboards lie at the heart of the Trials universe, and with Trials Fusion on PS4 we're taking that competitive experience one step further.

| Trials Frontier review - MMGN

MMGN: Trials Frontier does a commendable job converting precise console gameplay to a touchscreen. The stages are shorter, and its not as frustratingly addictive as the console games, but as a mobile option the gameplay is solid. Unfortunately, the freemium pricing structure isnt. Its just too much hassle to be worth playing more than a couple of times, with real money required to avoid a slow grind to unlock items and then again to avoid waiting overnight for upgrades to complete. The micro-transaction system is too heavily ingrained in progression, and in the end gives more reasons to delete Trials Frontier than continue playing.

Trials Frontier, the latest in publisher Ubisofts physics-driven racing game franchise is out now, and it takes place in a rustic, post-apocalyptic world. But if you dont care about that stuff, its also the series first appearance on mobile. And its free to play. And its really, really good.

The world wrapped around Trials Frontier is full of dust, rocks, and rust. Only the bravest, hardiest souls are capable of taming the land from the backs of their bikes. They ride hard while their motors rasp through the shimmering heat. They leap for glory, pop wheelies for justice... ...and then are forced to sit on the sidelines while their depleted fuel stocks slowly refill. They tap their feet and check their watch while an instrumental rendition of "Spanish Flea" pipes from the background.
